Import ChatGPT History into Get4oBack: Step-by-Step Guide

Get4oBack Pro lets you import your ChatGPT export so your conversations come with you. This guide walks you through exporting from ChatGPT and importing into Get4oBack step by step.

Step 1: Export from ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, go to Settings (profile icon) - Data Controls - Export Data. Click Export. OpenAI will email you a download link (often within minutes; sometimes up to a few days). Download the zip file before the link expires (e.g. 24 hours). The zip contains your conversations in a structured format (e.g. conversations.json).

Step 2: Import into Get4oBack

Sign in to Get4oBack (or sign up). If you are on Pro, go to the import or settings area for ChatGPT continuity. Follow the instructions to upload or provide your exported file. We will process it and add your conversations so you can continue them with GPT-4o. Exact steps are in the app; the flow is designed to be straightforward. If you are not on Pro yet, upgrade first - import is a Pro feature.

After import

Your ChatGPT conversations will appear in Get4oBack. You can open them and continue chatting with GPT-4o (or Our-4o). Folders and search work the same. If you had many chats, give the import a few minutes to finish. You keep your history in one place and can export again from Get4oBack anytime. Troubleshooting import

Use the export file that OpenAI sends (the zip from Data Controls - Export). Do not rename or alter the file structure. If import fails, check that you are on Pro (import is a Pro feature) and that the file is the correct format. Large exports can take a few minutes; wait for the process to complete.
